Prior to founding eMediaSales, James was vice president
and general manager for MIVA Small Business Solutions, Inc.,
the former owners of the Miva Merchant shopping cart system.
At MIVA, James held full P&L responsibility, and was
instrumental in both the return of the business unit to
profitability as well as the recent sale of the business to
the current owners. Before his role as general manager, James
held the position of director of software development, running
the technical team during the release of Miva Merchant 5.
James has worked in the Miva Merchant space for many
years - he was recruited to join MIVA by way of asset
acquisition of his prior entrepreneurial engagement,
Copernicus Business Systems. Copernicus was best known for
the SuperMod series of Miva Merchant modules, and for
providing the best documentation and technical support of
any module vendor at the time. Miva Merchant continues to
sell and support the Copernicus line of modules.
Earlier work experience includes several years with
Motorola, Georgia Tech Research Institute's commercial
product realization center, and ChanneLogics.
James graduated from Georgia Tech in 1996 with a degree
in Computer engineering, is a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity,
holds multiple intramural racquetball championships, and
speaks conversational spanish.
When not working, weekend time is spent with his wife, Ginny,
and 4 year old daughter, Nicki, or fishing.
